Carole Jury is a French contemporary artist living in Houston, Texas. Through abstract painting, she traces the quiet places where memory, emotion, and matter meet — building immersive surfaces that drift past representation toward something closer to feeling, the residue of a lived moment. Drawing from her own photographs, she lets fragments of the world dissolve into layers of texture and light. The image fades; the sensation stays. Her process is intuitive, unhurried, allowing forms to surface on their own time. She works mostly in oil, drawn to its depth and patience. Layer settles over layer, gesture over gesture, until the surface becomes almost sculptural — fluid in places, fractured in others, like memory itself. Materiality sits at the heart of her practice. She folds recycled scraps from her studio back into the work, giving them a second life and a quieter kind of meaning — transformation, renewal, care. Carole has exhibited internationally and has been a returning presence at Miami Art Week since 2017. Across her series, she circles themes of time, perception, and emotional echo, leaving room for the viewer to step in. Held between control and spontaneity, her paintings open a soft space — somewhere your own memories can settle.
